HBO’s True Blood’s series was released in 2008, based on Charlaine Harris’ novels. The series revolves around the premise that everyone has come to terms (sort of) that vampires exist and don’t require human blood anymore. Instead, a synthetic type has been created for their needs.
The story takes place in Bon Temps a small Louisiana town. A young woman Sookie Stackhouse works as a waitress at a local restaurant. Her love interest, a 173 year old vampire Bill Compton, looks like a man in his late twenties.
Its Bill’s associates that create problems for Sookie as she struggles to deal with her own powers…the ability to read others thoughts.
As of August 2010, True Bloods has approximately 5 million viewers and has been booked for a fourth season.
