If you’re going to this year’s SDCC, this event should be on your ‘to do’ list. Per Dread Central, this year’s San Diego Comic Con ‘Zombie Walk’ will return with a George Romero tribute.
This is from the George Romero Remembrance Vigil Facebook page:
Our first SDCC walk, in 2007, was held in honor of George’s appearance at Comic-Con. Quite simply, we owe our existence and continued love of all things zombie to him. We would be remiss if we did not offer his fans a way to come together and show their love and gratitude for the many fantastic films he provided us over the years.
Please join us at 8:00PM for a brief remembrance vigil, in Children’s Park (near the fountain). We invite you to share your memories and stories of George Romero and how he’s positively influenced your life, as well as join us for a 77-second moment of silence to honor George’s incomparable genius.
LED candles and glow sticks (especially green) are encouraged and welcomed, however please leave all REAL candles at home. No open flame will be allowed, for safety reasons. Zombie attire is obviously also encouraged, but not required.
