Resident Evil: Final Chapter-review

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

“I feel like this is all I’ve been doing for the past ten years.” – Alice

If you are a fan of the Resident Evil movies and are in NEED of closure on the series…… then go see this movie. It wraps up most of the unanswered questions the other films have left over the years. (We still don’t know what happened to Chris and K-Mart) By taking the fight back to the Hive, its brings the series full circle in a masterfully done way. The fight scenes, CGI,and effects are on par with the earlier movies.

Now, if you are looking for a standalone movie… I wouldn’t recommend it. You’ll be lost. I missed the last movie and spent the first part of the movie confused about where Alice was and why. Keep in mind, this is movie number 6. I had to google what happened to everyone else after the movie. Start with the first one before you try and tackle this one.

Overall, it was very enjoyable and took me back to the first movie that I fell in love with so many years ago. I love that I am not left guessing, like in some series. There were some disappointing parts; some of the fights could of been a little better; it felt like key information was left on the cutting room floor at times; lastly, I am seriously over clones.

The first movie will always be my favorite, but I’m happy with how the world ends.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
