“God? There is no God.”
Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he’s an easy target, the trio invades the man’s secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.
You could hear the audience draw in its breathe.
Overall, this was a very well made movie. It definitely put the thrill in thriller. Numerous turns and surprises mixed with stunning camera work and shocking brutality had audience members hooked in all the way until the end. The audience screaming, cheering, groaning and OMGing. The movie ended with applause, which is more than can be said of other horror films.
Don’t Breathe was directed and partially written by Fede Alvarez. The film stars Jane Levy, Stephen Lang (Avatar), and Dylan Minnette. Fede is known for directing the Evil Dead reboot, which also starred Jane Levy.
