Based on the novel by Shirley Jackson,The Haunting Of Hill House is currently in production at Netflix. It will be a 10-episode series directed by Mike Flanagan who helmed Oculus, Before I Wake, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Hush, and Netflix’s upcoming film Gerald’s Game, based on Stephen King’s novel.
Recently, photos and a trailer have dropped for the series and considering Netflix’s recent wins at the Emmy Awards, I’m sure this series will have a lot to offer horror fans. Previously the novel spawned to films, both called the Haunting one in 1963 and the other in 1999. According to Deadline, this film explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.
The series stars Timothy Hutton, Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Elizabeth Reaser, Henry Thomas, Mckenna Grace, Violet McGraw, Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti, Lulu Wilson and Paxton Singleton and is scheduled to premiere Oct. 12th.
