The Walking Dead season 3 finale : Welcome To The Tombs

They say all good things must come to an end. Well, “Welcome To The Tombs” is the end of season 3.  (Man, I hate saying that) Then, our Walking Dead withdrawal  begins! The climactic build up of season 3 is now only a few days away. However thanks to the great folks at AMCTV, the marathon has begun!

If you live in Atlanta, I strongly urge you to go to The Diesel Atlanta  http://dieselatlanta.com/ for their finale viewing party. But be forewarned, it will be a sell out! Arrive early and bring a can of food for a donation and raffle ticket.

Here is a preview of things to come on Welcome To The Tombs! From what I hear, it’s going to be an action packed, explosive finale. But then again, that’s what we’ve come to expect from AMCTV and The Walking Dead folks..right?

The Walking Dead DVD case from McFarlane Toys

If this isn’t the coolest idea as far as must have zombie stuff,  I don’t know what is! Hot off the presses from MTV Geek at the 2012 toy fair, this zombie DVD case will hold  a special edition Blu-Ray from The Walking Dead. To learn more, read on!

You know what we can never have enough of? The rotting heads of freshly decapitated zombies, that’s what! They are not only versatile when decorating your home, but can really add a touch of class to any joint! That’s why we’re excited to bring you this exclusive first look at AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Season 2 DVD case from our friends at McFarlane Toys! This version of the case, featuring a screwdriver-skewered head atop the show’s logo, will be available with the Special Edition Blu-Ray. While comparing it to the Blu-Ray packaging hidden in the neck means that this sucker isn’t quite life-size, the sheer grossness of the thing totally makes up for it! Just look at those teeth! The prototype for the case will be featured at the McFarlane toys booth during Toy Fair, along with a number of other zombie-related goodies. And it’s all just in time for the eagerly awaited second half of season 2!

Zombie Christmas poem

Order your hand drawn portraits TODAY  in time for  Christmas!

School was out and shopping had begun, as six year old Johnny gave a Santa list to his mom.

The list was complete with all the newest toys… remote controlled cars,  Lego’s,  an X-box… he’d been a good boy.

She looked at the paper, then kissed his cheek. “We’ll give it to Santa then wait and see.”

Crossing the lot he looked left then right, pulling his mom’s arm much to her delight.

With a smile on his face and a heart filled with cheer, he stood with other children, some elves and plastic reindeer.

When it was Johnny’s turn on Santa’s knee, he whispered his wishes as Santa nodded and agreed.

After awhile as they pushed through the crowds, Johnny started fussing “Hey mom I wanna go now!”

With a cart full of gifts, and her own list in hand, she checked off each item then looked at her young man.

From the checkout lane she heard the first shots, as a man then a woman, fell in a parking spot.

With a tug of her hand Johnny pleaded  to see, so she lifted him up pointing “It’s all over …sorry baby.”

With a dash to the car she strapped in her son, tossed in the bags before spotting one!

Pointing her finger she shouted with glee  “Over there son !  By the Christmas trees!”

Wearing a  festive red sweater with little reindeer and all, it’s belly was like Santa’s , but it’s head wrinkled and bald!

Then the silence was broken with the first two shots as a third found it’s head…. the zombie sweet spot!

Looking back at the zombie as it lay in the snow Johnny’s mom gave it nod and a  smile of her own.

The snow continued falling as Johnny was tucked in for the night, was read  ‘ Twas the Night Before Christmas before she turned out the light.

Closing his door she heard a familiar sound,  so she moved to the garland wrapped bannister, glancing down.

Standing under the mistletoe the young shirtless man waited… he was lean and tone, she was elated.

Hurrying down the stairs with a leap and a bound into his arms he spun her around. With a quick kiss and content as can be, the man uttered      “I told you he’d take three.”

Four Reasons Why the Zombie Apocalypse Would Not Affect the Current State of Affairs in America Blog Dudes | Nov. 2, 2011, 11:56 AM | 122 | Blog Dudes Blogging dude things. Recent Posts I often ask myself, when did zombies become the pop culture icons they are today? If the trend of zombie films, books, video games, artwork, and conventions continue, the living dead are sure to surpass baseball as America’s pastime. Yes, zombies have been around for a long time, but what happened to the slow, moaning corpses that stumbled their way into horror flicks in the 1960s and 70s? The zombie of today has the same fan base as Justin Bieber and could probably run for President. I blame Michael Jackson for teaching them how to dance in 1983. The current zombie craze brings with it a fascination with the possibility of a zombie apocalypse. [Read more...]

Zombies a Living History documentary trailer

The following article is a reprint from the Geeks of Doom website.

Zombies: A Living History The History Channel will premiere Zombies: A Living History tonight, October 25, 2011, at 8pm. The two-hour documentary will explore the origins of zombie myths and lore, from the Viking Age to the Black Death in Europe, both of which spawned legends of the dead walking the earth, and all the way up to the present day fears of a zombie apocalypse. You can watch the trailer for this program here below. Featured will be many authors of zombie fiction including Max Brooks, J.L. Bourne, Jonathan Mayberry and Roger Ma, as well as Daniel W. Dreznor, professor of international politics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and Dr. Steven Schlozman, psychiatrist on the faculty of at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and author of the fiction book The Zombie Autopsies. Information about the program is strangely missing from the History Channel’s website, except that it is listed in their TV schedule with no clickable links, but more info can be found on the show’s Facebook page. Here’s a chilling quote from there: “Since the beginning of time they have embodied our deepest fears and today their power to frighten us is more potent than ever before. They are the monster that history cannot kill.”

Dead of Night review

  • Jonathan Maberry’s Dead of Night will be released Oct.25th. I had the great opportunity to preview it and WOW!    Here’s the premiss:      A condemned serial killer  is injected with a virus by the prisons Dr. to keep him conscious while his body rots in the grave. However all drugs have side effects. Before he’s buried he awakes unleashing  a deadly virus contaminating an entire town. Now he can finish the work he started in life….now he’s unstoppable. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang…but a bite..

Dead of Night is the type of novel which gets you thinking. It’s billed as a stand alone novel, but like many of Mr. Maberry’s stories he opens the door for a sequel. Through countless hours of research Jonathan Maberry has carefully crafted a zombie novel  which may not be that far of a stretch from reality. The story has several conflicts  including the military and police at odds with each other,  the Federal government trying to take the quick and easy way out, and the fact an uncontrollable virus is quickly wiping Stebbins county PA off the map.
