Atlanta loves zombies! We’re the zombie capital of the world and here’s why. It’s been a few years since we first received word that Zombieland 2 was going into pre-production. Last week, the production began in Atlanta. It brought back the original cast and will be directed by Rubin Fleischer. But wait.. there’s more great news! Ghostbusters movie star Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd have reportedly joined the cast of Zombieland 2: Double Tap. As of now, it is not confirmed whether Murray and Aykroyd will have a cameo or a full-length role.
According to WMAZ in Macon, Extras Casting Atlanta has been advertising for extras in the Macon area at the same time the shoot for Zombieland 2 is scheduled.
While the company did not name the production, they helped cast the original “Zombieland” when it shot in Georgia, along with extras for the popular Georgia-filmed zombie TV thriller “The Walking Dead.”
If you live in Macon, here’s a heads up on road closures.
