Netflix’s highly anticipated Stranger Things will start off season 3 with a bang(pun intended) on July 4th.
Per Deadline, the plot of the eight episodes is under wraps but the new 1980s-style illustration suggests that the intrepid youngsters of the sci-fi mystery series will soon be contending with a horrific, otherworldly creature with talons, who looks a bit like the alien visitor from Super 8. The season will also include some unattractive dead vermin, a menacing gunman outside the Fun Fair, and whatever secret dangers are locked up in that especially forbidding industrial site.
The series which films primarily here in Georgia, took over part of a closed mall in Gwinnett county last summer, which was then recreated to look like a mall from the 8o’s. Renamed the ‘Starcourt Mall’ for those of us who grew up in the 80’s its a huge step back in time.
The tag line for this season is “One Summer Can Change Everything” so we’re excited to see what’s in store for our brave teen cast. Speaking of which, the cast includes Winona Ryder,David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, and Dacre Montgomery. Some new cast includes Maya Hawke, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey, and Francesca Reale.
