Premiering this week on October 6th to a sold out theater at the Midtown Arts Cinema, Comfortless is a psychological thriller from writer/director Ryan Manley. Born in Atlanta,GA. this is the directorial debut for the sixteen year-old director. Yes, you read that correctly. Ryan is a Junior in high school,but don’t let his age fool you. His passion for film-making is evident in Comfortless.
Over the last decade, student films have been making a great impact in the world of indie film-making and young writer/director/producers are emerging with compelling stories and quality films. Case in point, shot on an iPhone, Comfortless tells the story of how terrifying a relationship can be.
In a Q&A, Ryan added: “While I was writing the film, I knew I wanted it to be different. So many thrillers and dramas exist, but I wanted to make this one a little bit different. I decided on shooting the entire film with an iPhone, which was a bold move, that in my opinion, really worked for this film. Comfortless is a realistic film…”

Comfortless tells the story of a relationship between Rebecca and Thomas. Soon after they begin dating, Rebecca begins to find out dark secrets about Thomas. She realizes she must fight for her life and well-being by seeking help from her best friend, Anna, and psychologist, Dr. Williams.
